    I'm a student. How does verification work?

    Enter your .edu email during signup. We verify your enrollment and automatically apply the 50% student discount. It stays active for as long as you're enrolled. When you graduate, you can keep your Pro subscription at the standard rate — and all your relationship memories carry over.

    Why not just a free app with ads?

    Because your relationships deserve better than being a product. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your conversations to train AI for other companies. MATR Pro is funded by people who value depth.

    What happens if I cancel Pro?

    You keep your Free tier access. Your bond levels and conversation history stay. You lose access to Memory Vault, Conversation Prep, and AI Insights — but your data is never deleted. Upgrade again anytime and everything is waiting for you.

    Do I need the sensor?

    No. MATR works beautifully without any hardware. The sensor adds a physiological layer — heart rhythm coherence data — that takes the experience deeper. Think of it as the difference between seeing someone's expression and feeling their heartbeat.

    Is my data safe?

    MATR doesn't record or store your conversations as audio/video. We analyze the emotional arc and meaning, then discard the raw media. You own your data. Delete anything, anytime.

    What's a journey? Can I buy individual ones?

    Journeys are multi-session guided experiences designed for specific relationship goals — like 'Rebuilding After Distance' or 'From Coworkers to Friends.' Some journeys are included in Pro. Special journeys can be unlocked individually for $3.99.

    What are dare cards?

    Before a conversation, you can draw a dare card — easy 🌿, medium 🔥, or bold ⚡. It challenges you to do something specific during the conversation (like 'share a fear you've never said out loud'). Complete it for bonus XP and coins. It sounds scary. It is. That's why it works.

    What happens at 👑 Unbreakable?

    Legendary status. It takes hundreds of conversations and serious depth. You unlock exclusive bond journeys, the deepest prompts, and bragging rights. Only a handful of people have ever reached it. Be one of them.

    Can I lose my bond level?

    Your bond level is cumulative — XP never decreases. But your streak can break, which affects your XP multiplier. Keep the conversations going.
